Fortris™ AI Hardware Warranty & Return Policy

This Hardware Warranty & Return Policy describes the warranty coverage, exclusions, and return procedures for Hardware provided by Battle Motors, Inc. (“Battle Motors”) for use with the Fortris™ AI platform. This Policy is incorporated by reference into the Fortris™ AI Terms of Service.


1. Warranty Coverage

Battle Motors warrants that Hardware supplied for use with the Fortris™ AI platform will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use during the applicable warranty period:

  • Gateways and DVRs: Two (2) years from date of delivery.
  • Ancillary hardware (sensors, cameras, peripherals): One (1) year from date of delivery.
  • Installation workmanship: Ninety (90) days from date of installation.
  • Hardware-as-a-Service (HaaS): Hardware supplied under a HaaS subscription is covered for the full HaaS Subscription Term.

2. Warranty Exclusions

This warranty does not cover:

  • Damage caused by misuse, abuse, accident, neglect, or unauthorized modification.
  • Damage caused by improper installation or installation by non-authorized personnel.
  • Damage caused by environmental factors beyond specified operating conditions.
  • Normal wear and tear, including cosmetic damage.
  • Hardware that has been tampered with or had serial numbers removed or altered.
  • Damage caused by use with non-approved accessories or equipment.

3. Return / RMA Process

To initiate a warranty return:

Step 1 — Submit a support ticket at https://support.fortris.ai or email fortris@battlemotors.com with the device serial number, symptoms, and installation photos where relevant.

Step 2 — Remote diagnostics: Battle Motors support will attempt remote diagnostics first; many issues can be resolved via configuration or firmware update.

Step 3 — RMA issuance: If replacement is required, Battle Motors will issue an RMA number and a prepaid return shipping label within one (1) business day.

Step 4 — Replacement shipment: For covered warranty claims, Battle Motors ships the replacement within two (2) business days of RMA issuance, standard ground freight. Expedited shipping is available at Customer expense.

Step 5 — Return of defective unit: Customer returns the defective unit within fifteen (15) business days of receiving the replacement. Failure to return may result in a charge for the replacement unit at then-current MSRP.


4. Advanced Replacement

For Pro and Vision tier customers, Battle Motors offers advanced replacement: a replacement unit is shipped before the defective unit is returned, subject to a credit card hold in the amount of the replacement unit’s MSRP. The hold is released upon receipt of the defective unit within the RMA window.


5. Non-Warranty Returns

Hardware that is outside the warranty period or damaged due to excluded causes may be repaired or replaced at Customer’s expense. Contact support for a quote.


6. Limitation on Warranty

THE WARRANTIES SET FORTH IN THIS POLICY ARE THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE WARRANTIES PROVIDED BY BATTLE MOTORS WITH RESPECT TO THE HARDWARE. BATTLE MOTORS DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
